Web Tech - Wordpress Safety: Don't Panic!

What exactly is WordPress cloning and why is it an extremely useful tool to have on your webmaster's bag? Most people think this is a shady technique for duplicating sites to garner more link love and rankings, and while that might have been true (and useful!) This is an entirely different endeavor.

My first step isn't one you must take but I was helped by it. I had a good old fashion pity party. I cried and railed against the evil hackers (that where probably 13 and smarter then me) And I did before I started my site, what I should have done. And here is where I would like you to start. Now we are getting into things specific to WordPress. Whenever you install WordPress, you need to edit the file config-sample.php and rename it to config.php. You need to set up the database details there.

However, I advise that you install the Login LockDown plugin rather than visit this page any.htaccess controls. Login requests will be stopped by that from being permitted from a certain IP-ADDRESS for an hour or so after three failed login attempts. If you accomplish that, you can still access your admin cell while and yet you still have protection against hackers.
